CONVENTION TIP:  Are you traveling out of town for the convention weekend?  Make sure to plan out the travel details of your trip beforehand.  Some of the most important things to work out before going to a convention are accommodations, transportation, dining arrangements and money for the bare convention necessities.  The more you plan before the convention, the less drama you have to deal with when you’re there.

NEWSBYTE: 2012 Nisei Week Cosplay Contest Presented By PMX

LOS ANGELES, CA (Aug. 2, 2012).  The Nisei Week Foundation announces that it will be hosting a cosplay contest on Sunday, August 12th at 1PM at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center Plaza, located on 244 South San Pedro Street in Los Angeles.  The cosplay contest will be presented by Pacific Media Expo, with prizes being provided by Pacific Media Expo, Nisei Week Foundation, Viz Media, Bandai Entertainment and Jungle Special Collector’s Shop.

NEWSBYTE: 2012 Nisei Week Cosplay Parade Signups

LOS ANGELES, CA (AUG. 1., 2012).  Nisei Week’s Anime Planning Committee announces that participants can sign up to be a part of the Cosplay Parade until August 12th at 3PM at Anime Jungle, located in the Little Tokyo Mall on 319 E. 2nd Street in Los Angeles.  Participants can also sign up by calling Anime Jungle at (213) 621-1661.  The Cosplay Parade is a part of the Nisei Week Grand Parade on Sunday, August 12th at 5PM in Little Tokyo.

CONVENTION WATCH: Comikaze 2012 To Be Presented By Stan Lee

BEVERLY HILLS, CA (Apr. 12, 2012). Comikaze Entertainment Inc. announced a partnership with Stan Lee and his company POW! Entertainment for its 2012 convention for anime and pop culture.  The second-year convention will be held on September 15-16, 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be rebranded as “Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo presented by POW! Entertainment.”

“The inauguration of Comikaze Expo demonstrated the mighty appetite and eager response from fans to experience a Los Angeles-based event that provides a variety of comic book and pop culture entertainment,” said Stan Lee, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of POW! Entertainment in a statement released on Wednesday. “We saw an opportunity to creatively take this event to new heights through our partnership and we seized it!”

Guests for this year’s convention include Bleach voice actor Darrel Guilbeau, Walking Dead star Madison Lintz and Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno.  Guests of Honor are Stan Lee, Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Invader Zim creator Jhonen Vasquez, Artist Camilla d’Errico and Peaches Christ.  Additional information about Comikaze can be found on the Comikaze Website at http://www.comikazeexpo.com.

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 28, 2012).  Nisei Week’s anime and cosplay planning committee announces its 2012 program offerings to be held in the Little Tokyo district of Los Angeles.  Events for the anime and cosplay community will take place on Saturday, August 11th and Sunday, August 12th, with participation in the Grand Parade on Sunday evening.  Sign-ups for a cosplay contest and to participate in Nisei Week’s Grand Parade will be announced later.
